Pope Soil and Water Conservation District is co-hosting the Irrigators Clinic on Thursday, March 28 in Alexandria. This event will be of interest to anyone who is actively engaged in irrigation on agricultural lands and interested in soil health, irrigation technology advances, cover crops, water appropriation permitting and research, it was stated in a news release from PSWCD. 

A line-up of great speakers has committed to participating in the event representing: University of Minnesota; Minnesota Department of Agriculture; Department of Natural Resources; R.D. Offutt Farms; Centra Sota Coop and Prairie Farm Company.

Topics to be addressed during the day include: Improving Profitability and Environmental Stewardship with Nitrogen Best Management Practices for Irrigated Corn; DNR Water Appropriation Permitting; Enhancing Environmental Sustainability and Farm Productivity: Key Insights from Minnesota’s Irrigation Research; Precision Watering Technology in Farm Operations; When Precision Agronomy Meets Water Management; Irrigation, Specialty Crops, and Cover Crops; and Irrigation Regional Conservation Partnership Program Update. 

CEUs for Certified Crop Advisors will be offered. 

Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the program starting  at 9:15 a.m. and concluding at 3 p.m.
