The Minnewaska FFA group is sending four teams and five individuals to state on April 21st. The Ag Mechanics team scored 5th out of 14 teams at their regional competition. The Livestock team placed third out of 16 teams. Weston Hawkins placed first individually, Eric Bowen placed 10th individually and Addy Tangen placed 14th overall out of about 70 members of FFA. The Horse Evaluation CDE team earned 5th place at the Region 3 contest judging in categories including Halter Paint Horses, Quarter Horse Geldings, Quarter Horse Mares, Horsemanship, English and Ranch Pleasure. Reasons were given in the Halter and performance categories. Becca Femrite scored 1st place individually and scored the highest of approximately 125 students in 6 categores and knowledge test. Four students participated in Dairy Evaluation and qualified for state. Gretchen Erickson, Addy Tangen, Tommi Devick and Emily Peabody placed 9th as a team and Addy placed 11th out of about 75 members of FFA. Last but not least, Molly Douvier earned second place in Dairy Handling.
