While high winds and cool temperatures last week did not make for comfortable spring crappie fishing, things changed over the weekend with winds dying down on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.  That gave anglers an opportunity to get their boats back in the water at Lake Minnewaska in pursuit of a crappie bite.  Crappies, we’re told by anglers, have moved into the shallows and these anglers were fishing the bay between Captains Bar & Grill and the DNR landing on the northwest side of the lake.  There were a number of boats in the bay on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
