The Laker trap team was supposed to post week 3 competiton scores Sunday April 30, but with winds of over 30 mph and gusting up to 45 mph, it was unsafe to compete.  So, the team had competition on Thursday May 4 instead, and what a day they had.

“Our team average jumped from 19.1 to 21.5.  That is huge!” said coach Jennie Stone. “We had five 25-straights and four new personal bests, so it was a good day.  I think last season we only had five or six 25 straights all year.  This year, I have challenged the team to get 25 of them for a pizza party.  It looks like I might have to pay that one off as they have already broke 16 of them and we still have 3 more chances to get to 25.  I love it!”

Leading the pack this week was junior Mason Reichmann, who crushed 49-of-50. Right on his heels was sophomore Kyler Anderson with 48-of-50 and James Nichtern, August Reichmann and Dylan VanZee with 47’s.

The nice weather also brought out several personal bests this week.  Holly Hennen broke a 17-of-25 this week shooting her brand new gun. “Holly has been working on basics for quite a while but didn’t have a gun that was working for her.  She picked up a new one today that fit her correctly, and her scores jumped way up,” coach Stone said.  “It is so nice for her to finally see her hard work paying off.”

Also hitting personal bests, Thursday, were Brody Hoffert with a 23×25, Cole Kittelson with a 24×25 and James Nichtern with a 24×25.

The team finished the day shooting some “Annie-Oakley” fun rounds.

The Lakers shoot competiton week No. 4, Sunday, May 7, and their final competiton is set for Sunday, May 14th before prepping for the state shoot in Alex on June 13.
