The Minnewaska Area softball team picked up its first win last Tuesday with a 10-6 victory at Yellow Medicine East.  It was the only game of the week for the Lakers, who were also set to play at Morris Area, Thursday and host the Minnewaska Invitational, Saturday.

The game against Morris had to be postponed when the umpires did not show up, while the invitational was canceled due to weather.

The Lakers are coached by first-year head coach Luke Barkeim, who is assisted by Jacalyn Skoglund, Jesse Johnson and Abby VerSteeg.

The Lakers are set to play a doubleheader at Sauk Centre, Thursday, April 25 before coming home again for a game Tuesday, April 30 versus NLS.
